Want to change the Campus Center?

Campus Center, Bryn Mawr College

How often do you use the Campus Center?

The Marie Salant Neuberger Centennial Campus Center is one of the busiest places on campus since its conversion from the gymnasium in 1985. Over the past 25 years the traffic patterns have changed considerably and the current landscape is not suitable for this traffic. Facilities Services has been working for the past year to address the exterior experience of both the Campus Center Plaza and the muddy path that has developed between the Campus Center and Canaday Library.

Facilities has hired the landscape architecture firm of Glackin Thomas Panzak (GTP) to aid with the project, and a next step involves your input with a design Charrette. A charrette is a setting where many disciplines, departments and students come together to express their ideas on how the current exterior(s) are and are not meeting the expectations of today’s students and student activities. This is a rare opportunity to see what the landscape architects have been working on, and to directly express your ideas and opinions on the front of the Campus Center.

This Charrette will be held Tuesday, November 29 from 10 am – Noon in Campus Center 200. If you are interested, please RSVP to Lydia Bello, lbello@brynmawr.edu, by Wednesday November 23 – there are only 10 spots available!

Your participation is greatly valued and appreciated, and you will be able to have a huge impact on the landscape of the campus.
